I'm with gentlyferal - we were so busy looking after king-dumb interests we couldn't even afford to pay attention, let alone pay for gas . When we finally could afford a mini-van I didn't mind driving ... and I don't recall anyone offering to pay for gas either.

Just curious...."service, and gas money"
by riotgirlpeeps inlocally on occasion it was the common practice when "in service" to leave gas money for the driver.
i know that the individuals if savvy can get a tax credit for mileage for service (and i was once told mileage to and from public talks could also be included).
what i am curious about is do people still give the driver money for thier trouble?

I'm with you on Randy Garybus. Before I found JWD I found freeminds, silentlambs and AJWARB (sp?) I visit this site most often though because I love the forum. I found out about Ray's book through one of the other sites - the insight it gave into the GB was astounding! Nothing like I thought it was (or most of the R&F either no doubt).
If G wants to support a bunch of lying, bloodguilty crooks, let him!

also i would like your vote on whether you think they are reading it more often as time goes on.

Life is so much better
by czarofmischief inhey, yinz!.
just poking my blue head in once again to say hello.
i haven't been by much, but i have been perusing a little bit, just to keep tabs on all y'all.. i just wanted to say to all you newbies (and new lurkers, i'm sure) that life really does get much, much better when you leave the wts.

I couldn't agree with you more! Life is so much sweeter on the 'outside' of the b0rg. The WT-BS had me so blinded that I actually BELIEVED them when they said that people of the world were miserable ... up to a point. Then after several miserable years in the b0rg I came to envy the d'fd and d'ad ones ... and those in the world living a 'normal' life.

See the JW, not the person
by robhic ini've written before about my poor jw gilfriend and her health problems (i am not a jw).
she was in the hospital for an infection the last 3 days and, like usual, a few jws visited her.
(the hospital is conveniently located 5 blocks from their kh...) in speaking with her at times she would mention that "some ladies from my church came to visit" followed immediately by stating her lack of familiarity or even recognition of one or more of the ladies visiting.. she has had jws visit her in hospital and at home many times before.

The more you observe JW's the more you realize how far from the norm they are in basic manners and socialization. It's not completely their fault though ... all the WTS talks to them about is how to serve THEM! NOT how to be of service to OTHERS!

Leola - Gurl I am rolling on the floor laughing my natural A** off - YOU HEAR ME???
Welcome to the forum. And yes, the UN Thing is big A** F'ing deal to people who are interested in the truth! Congratulations to you and your family for getting out together. Some people (like grissom) don't thinks it's such a big deal that the WTBTS taught US that the UN was the scarlet colored wild beast of Revelation ... then joined the damned org. itself undercover for 10 years - AND pushed UN propoganda on the rank and file ... too gullible to even realize what was going on. Then, as you said, resigned after the lid was blown off the whole mess !
I'm glad you and yours are finally free. You will find real comrades here. We know what you've been through and how it feels to be betrayed by someone you trusted implicitly.

New here
by ameliasmom ini have been "lurking" here for a while and just wanted to share with those that would, maybe, understand what i go through sometimes.
my dad's family were mostly all witnesses.
my most vivid memories of my grandfather as a child were of his recording all of the assemblies (or conventions, as i suppose they are called now) and listening to them over and over.

Welcome to the forum ameliasmom! So sad that the 'only true Christians' cannot even offer condolences when a loved one dies . Those people don't even realize how sick that sort of behavior is.
You are among 'true' friends here. Stop by often.

evolution talk
by googlemagoogle init's surprising how much competence and knowledge a fellow brother needs to have on a topic to have a public talk about it on stage... .
sunday morning, i pop in right after the song (i always do... i hate singing klingon melodies).
the talk already started.

there were many more holy words of truth that very hour. but they were far above my level of understanding, so i won't even try to utter them.
LOL - google - more than likely they were so stupid your extrememly complex brain had no where to put them and they were immediately discarded - like SPAM!
It's no wonder they keep harping on the evils of college!

Well done sweet tee! Did you copy this to yoru ultra christian class mate! The look on her face - priceless, especially if you'd dared to hint that you were gay too! LOL!
Good girl!
Hey Crumpet! Don’t I have enough of my business in the streets already? I did think about copying her on my reply but then I may not get the next ‘bigoted’ email and I won’t be able to support or not support the next issue these creatans are in an uproar about. It’s great to finally speak in my OWN VOICE!!! No blind ‘Obedience’ to the b0rg to suppress my own thoughts anymore. AHHHHH .... Sweet freedom!
